Group Exit Points - Trying To Make Sense Of School Shootings

It’s hard to make sense of horrific events that occur to innocent victims, such as the most recent mass school shooting in south Texas that left nineteen young children and two adults dead. And, it’s natural for us to then wonder why did this happen? What does it mean? If there is a God, why would he/she allow this evil act to take place? Or is life just a series of random, chaotic, and unfair events? If you have thought about these questions, you’re not alone.  I hear them often from people around the world, especially those who are experiencing significant tragedy, pain, sadness, loneliness, and hopelessness.

In my years as a spiritual medium I have heard Spirit relay the message that our greatest challenges and heartbreaks, even something as horrible as murder, are full of meaning and purpose, and can result in our spiritual growth, learning, and blessings.

In most cases, we ourselves planned those experiences before we were born as part of our soul contract with one or more people. We all have multiple exit points throughout our life, and where there’s mass death of many people at one time, it’s deemed as a “group exit point”. In this case, it’s highly likely these souls either all signed up for (pre-birth) the potential tragedy resulting in their exit point or death. Or, spirit has shared that there are certain times and situations that are deemed “random chaos” and due to one’s matching vibrational frequency with the situation, they were drawn into it. (This has nothing to do with the innocent victim/person being good or bad, right or wrong. It’s about their energy frequency composed of their dominant fear-based thoughts and beliefs that match the lower frequency energy of the person and/or situation.)

In the case of the school shooting, it was definitely the former, not the latter case, where these very advanced souls (the children and two adults) were just playing out their role in this situation for the sake of 1) teaching and giving this incredibly broken and dark individual soul (the shooter) a missed opportunity to take the high road in his soul’s journey; and 2) using it as a teaching opportunity for the masses, wherein there are universal lessons meant for all. This is a case of a “shake up to wake up” moment as my guides like to say. Advanced or intermediate souls may choose – out of love – the possibility of being murdered to assist beginner, immature souls to learn by trial and error. They didn’t need to learn a lesson, rather volunteered to help others who were involved and impacted by the event to learn and grow. Their “untimely” death by murder also allows them to return Home with brownie points for taking one for the team, which allows their soul to evolve.

These victims or wise souls have the vantage point of deeply knowing that while it’s tragic for both themself and their living survivors, that no one really can be killed. Yes, the physical body may be destroyed, but that is a mere fraction of who and what we are. They retain the soul knowing that we are energy and energy doesn’t die, it simply changes form. And that their soul essence, their light, is eternal and just returning home from where it originally came.

My understanding is that like anything else, murdering anyone is not something planned as a definite, rather a potential or probability before coming into body, due to our free will choices once here. And the Divine or God gives us this gift, and while always quietly behind the scenes energetically influencing us to take the high road, our free will is honored, knowing it’s all part of our learning process. There were likely multiple other ways this could have played out that perhaps didn’t have to result in this horrific mass murder. However, due to his soul being hijacked by sheer evil, he fell way off track and exercised his free will in going down a path of destruction. Needless to say, he failed to follow his higher self and team spirit’s guidance and attempted influence on him and that “potential” became a reality as a result.

The silver lining in these shatterings and times of darkness is to see the many opportunities that exist for more light to come in. Opportunities open up for many to come together in prayer and/or service, uniting in a way that otherwise wouldn’t have occurred; opportunities for others to do random acts of kindness, and support for those living survivors in need; and the opportunity to learn through opposites or in the stark contrast of knowing what we don’t want, allowing us to be more clear and inspired to create what we do want, bringing in more light and love into the world.

What spirit has reminded me is that each of us plays an important role in our own unique way in bringing more light and love to the world. And we can all send out prayers of healing to those impacted by this tragic event, praying for their highest truth and highest healing according to their soul’s plan.

Tragedies like this are incredibly difficult and we all have the capacity to feel the pain on some level as we are all part of the collective consciousness. This is especially true for empaths or highly sensitive individuals. Whether we know someone personally affected or not, it's important to lean into the grief we may be experiencing. As Spirit often emphasizes, we have to feel it to heal it. Remember to check in with yourself and use your self-care tools as needed. We cannot give what we don't have and cannot be of service if our emotional and physical needs are not being met. When we feel grounded and aligned with love, it's from this place that we can be of the greatest service to others, sending out our light and love to help comfort their grieving souls.

Please know my deepest sympathy and prayers go out to all the families and friends directly touched by this tragedy. May their souls find the peace, comfort, and healing they so deserve.
